i wear hot topic skinny jeans, vans shoes, nice shirts, and i touch myself up well these days (in the past i was kinda sloppy and careless) Yet-- I'm not your average well-off kid like you might think- I'm poor. My parents are poor, I often eat generic food, I bag all my lunches- rarely ever eat out I don't own a car and I've never owned one- I take public transportation. I don't have my own place and im jobless. But ya know despite this I feel like it's ridiculous of me to wait until I'm out of college to look sharp- I'm a bargain hunter- I hunt for things that look rich and expensive but are cheap (Like at discount clothing stores, thrift stores) I rarely ever go in malls. I'm hoping that one day even if I am successful and have lots of money that I am never so foolish as to flop tons of my hard-earned money on expensive things without putting in the initiative and research to find sales and bargains (Regardless of the state of the economy or my financial situation) Even if I was Joe Rich, I wouldn't find it pointles and morally wrong to reward companies and stores with over-priced items. I'm all for supporting my dollars to good companies that have nice stuff at a fair price. Though the entire reason I care about nice clothes is not about the social stigma attached behind it or anything artificial related. I do it as a form of self-expression, like in an artistic matter- and like all great artists I make sure to spare my paint for only the best paintings Or in other words, spare my money for only clothes I REALLY want.
