Are elegant cocktail dresses ever enough for prom?

1. At my prom, girls wore everything from silky light summer dresses to many layered ball gowns. An "elegant cocktail dress" would fit nicely in the middle.

3. I think prom is too overdone and puts too much pressure on girls to be perfect. I think that if you are comfortable in what you are wearing then it is enough.
