What style of heel should I wear? My prom is coming up soon and I'm not sure what style of heel I should wear. Im definitely wearing at least 4inches because I'm not very tall and need the height for my dress. My dress is long, dark blue and made from silk so I thought silver would go but what stye? Strappy? stilleto? Here is a link to a dress which looks very simular to mine but not exact. http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?imgurl=http://www.dresscatalog.com/bmz_cache/9/92fdf776e711addbf067aab3c1efb6af.image.90x180.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.dresscatalog.com/discount-blue-evening-dresses-28.html&usg=__CxeP5SdAJhyLSgl_D6Bw8kGIr3k=&h=180&w=90&sz=4&hl=en&start=137&sig2=CMYX35H_Pt9nGQgaPP4qkQ&zoom=1&tbnid=v6oDFXNbknVckM:&tbnh=114&tbnw=57&ei=pending&prev=/search%3Fq%3Dlong%2Bblue%2Bevening%2Bdresses%26um%3D1%26hl%3Den%26sa%3DN%26rlz%3D1R2ADFA_enGB378%26biw%3D1356%26bih%3D525%26tbm%3Disch&um=1&itbs=1&iact=rc&dur=250&page=5&ndsp=37&ved=1t:429,r:6,s:137&tx=20&ty=55 sorry its so long and sorry if it don't come up or the picture comes up small. Formal/Prom Dress Advice? Hi, So my formal/ prom is in November but I want to start looking for dresses and trying them on soon so that I don't miss out on a good dress. I will be trying on lots of different styles to see which looks best on me but I was hoping for some help. I am five foot tall and not skinny. I am curvy with especially in the bust, hips and thighs. What type of dress would suit me? I am a brunette too, just thought I would throw that in there and I plan to wear heels. I am going to wear a full length dress because it is my last year in high school but I am not sure what type of dress would suit me. Out of the dresses that I have linked below which one would suit my curvy body shape? One: http://www.mybridaldress.com/discount-evening-dress-for-prom-designer-style-mbd7215.html Two: http://www.mybridaldress.com/deep-cerise-evening-dress-with-sweetheart-empire-waist-band.html Three: http://www.eveningdressessale.com/prom-dresses/strapless-rouched-bodice-with-empire-a-line-skirt-custom-made-cheap-navy-blue-prom-dresses-p-0089-544.html Which one would suit my body type better? Without making me look even shorter? I don't mind that I am short, just as long as the dress doesn't make me look even shorter. Thanks :) I am an Australian size 12. Im not sure what this is in international size. I am pretty pale, but not too pale. I believe I'm an hourglass... not too sure..

Has anyone been on the show Say Yes to the Dress? Say Yes to the dress is a show on TLC that documents a bride's search for he r wedding dress at Kleinfeld's in Manhattan. I got a call for casting and then was told that I would have to pay for my own airfare, hotel, food, and then I wouldn't even get a discount on the dress! I just think this is ridiculous. Why would I pay to put myself on TV? I just want to know if anyone else did this. Actually, their dresses start at about $1500, but most are $2500 and up. The casting advertised for brides from ALL walks of life and did not specify that they had to be from the Tri-State area. They were looking for brides nationwide. I was thinking about doing it since we have friends in NYC anyways, but we just found out my fiance was laid off from his job. I am a business owner and I don't think I need to pay for bridal fame. I am not going to pay all that money for a 3 hour bridal fitting and consultation. I'm sure there are plenty of great places to find a dress in Orlando. Besides, I'm a military veteran and last year for veteran's day, David's Bridal in my home town gave out free dresses to veterans. I'm not about to spend $25,000 on a dress to wear for one day...I'd have to wear that dress for the first 3 weeks of marriage and then wear it again every year for my anniversary! lol

Is it safe to buy a flower girl dress from ebay or DHgate? I want to buy 2 flowergirl dresses/ pageant dresses for my girls. I do not have any such store in our area, so I need to buy online. Is it a good idea to buy from ebay or DHgate? I had a talk with a DHgate supplier. He was ready to make 2 dresses as per the given designs and even offered good discount (2 dresses for $180). But I'm not sure if the quality will be as promised. Please share if you have any such experience.
What type of veil should I wear with this dress? This is my wedding dress http://www.princessbridalgowns.com/Discount_Sophia_Tolli_wedding_gown_y1904_genevieve_Stock.html I’d like to wear a veil with my wedding dress but I’m not even sure a veil would go with this floaty chiffon style, what do you think? And if so what kind of style would you recommend? Long/short, patterned/plain?! Any advice and/or pictures would be really helpful! Thanks!
How to politely tell FMIL she doesn't need to look for my dress? Her son and I are getting married in about 2 years and I've been looking at dresses just to get an idea of what I would like, so I can go from there when it is actually time to buy one. His mum keeps sending me websites with discounted wedding dresses. I think it's really sweet that she wants to help keep the costs down and I appreciate the help but I've already made plans with my mum (she has also offered to pay) to go dress shopping when the time is right. We're getting married in the Netherlands as that's where 80 of the 100 guests live so it's easier to get the dress there (saves flying it over etc.) and it is actually cheaper to buy it there. I've told her all this numerous times (as well as my fiance) but she doesn't seem to understand what we're saying. Since my fiance is her only child I'm trying to involve her in as much other wedding things as I can such as the cake, decorations and I frequently update her when we got an idea for something or when we've looked at venues because she can't attend the dress shopping even if she wanted to due to personal reasons and to be honest I've always wanted to do that just with my mum, whom I know really looks forward to it as well. I don't know how to tell her in a polite and nice way that she doesn't have to look for dresses. I know she's excited and I do really try to get her as involved as possible but shopping for the dress is something that will be taken care of and it's the only thing my mum will be involved in (I've explained the situation to my parents and they agreed to leave other wedding planning stuff to my in-laws as they only have one child while I've got a younger sibling). The point is that she's suffering from depression and anxiety and although she is receiving medication it has happened before that she gets really upset/mad/insulted when people politely thanked her when she's offered to do/give something they already had taken care of and I'm scared to set her off. I don't want to upset her and feel like I'm trying to take away something from her. Of course I will show her lots of pictures and keep her up to date and it would be lovely if she could attend but that's just not possible. How do I tell her? I don't want to put this on my fiance as he's having a hard time at work and he's told her tons of times too but it just doesn't seem to get through. Thanks for your answers. If she was able to come with me to go dress shopping I would have had her with me without a question. The reason why I want to tell her not to look is because I know she will be very insulted when I do go and pick a dress with just my mum and she'll be disappointed I didn't go with any of her choices. I respect the fact that she wants all the girly things that come with a wedding and I do try to let her and keep her up to date by showing her what kind of dress I have in mind, what hair, what flowers and what she thinks. She gets to decide on the cake and stuff like that and I do believe she considers that "real input" as she doesn't have to say anything to either me or my fiance. I truelly do not want to take any happiness away from her but it's hard to decide whether telling her it will be taken care of or telling her when the time is there that I didn't pick any of the dresses she had in mind is the best option in the long run. Chloe, if you've got no idea what you're on about please keep your opinion to yourself. If I were really such a bridezilla I wouldn't even be considering anyones feelings which I am.
where can i buy a dress form? i've searched e-bay and online "discount" stores, but all of them are either really expensive or the shipping is astronomical. is there any solution? do tailoring places ever have old dress forms? i'm not looking for an antique one, i'm looking for a useable one, but it doesn't have to be state-of-the-art. the brand new designer-house ones i've seen, even from "wholesale" or "discount" places are still between $600 and $900. yikes! eek! HELP!!!!
Is it ok to haggle on the price of a wedding dress? I've noticed that several of the designers I like are all available at the same bridal salon in my area. Also, I've found many of the styles I'm looking at online at jaysbridal.com, which is connected to a Florida based brick/mortar store, and is very reputable for buying dresses online. Some of the styles online are as cheap as $780, while others are as much as $2000. I intend to keep track of these prices when I go in to try on these dresses, that way I'll have a reference of what should be in my price range. The part I'm wondering about is if the dress is cheaper either online or at another salon (for example, one that is not in my area), is it appropriate to ask the salon to make me a deal. I would like for them to either price match the lowest prices I can find, or to give me a discount on alterations, mother of the bride/groom dresses, or bridesmaids dresses. Even if it's not saving me money, if they'll save my friends/family money I'll be willing to spend a little more (I would honestly rather buy it from a salon, anyway, but I need to save money.) Any suggestions on how to approach this are appreciated.
Would you risk this (dress question)? Okay, so here's my situation. I found my perfect dress online, only to find out the next day that it is discontinued and I can only order it until Oct. 3 (new and in my size) but the lady at the corporate office emailed me and told me that she can offer the sample they have (they only have ONE) for $1200 (reg. price $2400) only the dress would have to be altered down to my size because its a sample, so alterations might be expensive. Another thing is I live in the middle of nowhere in a small town, so trying it on isn't an option before getting the discounted dress. If I don't jump on it now then then it is going to a sale they are having for their discontinued dresses. What should I do? Even if I want to buy it new in my size I have no idea how I'd try it on without traveling, and it won't be available after Oct. 3 because it's discontinued.
What is the dress code at Banana Republic? Mostly I just want to know if I will be able to wear jeans. :p Also will I have to buy clothes from Banana Republic because...they're expensive...even with the crazy awesome 50% discount. I haven't been hired yet. I just went to an interview and they said they liked me. I was just trying to get an idea if I could wear jeans or not. I'll wear whatever they tell me.
Discount designer clothes for children? Hi, My partner has a 4 year old daughter with his ex. His ex only allows their daughter to wear expensive or designer clothes ie clothes from House of Frasier, Baby Gap, Pumpkin Patch, DNKY, etc. My partner and I can't afford and don't believe in paying £50 for a t-shirt for a child that is going to grow out of it in a few months - of course we want her to have nice comfortable clothes but we don't believe that that means paying £50-100 for a designer t-shirt or trousers. We have bought loads of clothes for her from H&M, Next, Debenhams, Mothercare etc but she never wears them and we just found out that as soon as the mother saw the label she just binned them. My partner has just finished uni and is having trouble fining a job with his degree and can only get work for 6 week periods and then nothing for weeks so he doesn't have a steady income coming in. Even with this he still pays her maintenance directly to her even though the CSA told him he doesn’t have to pay maintenance and refuses to take money from him. When he does get money in he always buys her something, nothing big but something small like some new outdoor toys, or a game etc but nothing extravagant but this is not good enough - the mother expects something around £100 spent on her nearly every week. I have a full time job at the minute but am being made redundant at the of July and going back to finish my degree in September, but after I pay rent for myself and my partner and household bills I only have £200 left to live for the rest of the month so I can't afford to give my partner a lot of money to spend on designer clothes. We have tried to explain that she doesnt need to be in designer clothes all of the time (especially as she is not allowed to get them dirty as they just get binned straight away - not washed just binned as she decides that they are no good anymore) and that we can't afford to dress her in them but that clothes from Next, H&M, etc are just as good. Does anyone know of any websites that sell designer clothes but at a discount price? Thanks for any help! I agree, I don;t want to support her habbit but she is treatening to stop my partner's access to his daughter if he does not provide his daughter with what she expects and the standard she sets. She has even got her solicitor confirming this in writting to us. We have tried talking to her and through the solicitor but we have got no where she is a very manipulative person and "is not right in the head". My partner no longer has contact with the mother due to harassment and abuse she put us both through over the last two years. The mother isn't well off - she has a part time job and claims any benefits she can - she doesnt tell the benefits people she has a job - but to be buying designer clothes and the latest technology etc for the child she must be getting more than enought money

Does anyone know where that discount clothing warehouse is outside of Columbus, Ohio? I admit, the last time I was there was about 2 years ago... But there was this discount clothing warehouse in an industrial area (not surrounded by other shops) outside of Columbus, OH. They had brand name clothing for a fraction of the original price. It was not a chain store (no JCPenny or Kaufmans or anything).. Outside was very bland, just a little sign and the big building. It was sort of one of those things where you had to know where you were going. Inside it was just a huge open warehouse with clothing racks every where. The dressing "rooms" were just curtains grouped together by the registers up front. Does this ring a bell to anyone? I wanted to go shopping there again, but I can't even remember the name of it! Even if the place is out of business now, someone please remind me of the name and where it was at... Thanks! Um, yeah... It is NOT on a major street with other stores around it. I don't know how much plainer I can get about it. So the one on High Street is NOT it. It is a building all by itself... No windows... in an industrial place.. Not in Short North.
Ebay selling, how can i give a discount on shipping to someone buying 2 items? So i have two colors of the same mini dress im selling on ebay, a buyer contacted me and said shes hoping to win both of them, and if she does can i give her a discount on the shipping of the second one. Seeing as how i listed them for WAY lower then i even wanted to, i do want to make this sale cuz im new to ebay selling. So im thinking of telling her i will just give her a few dollars off on the shipping. I desperately want this dress Blair Fowler wore down the red carpet for the "Prom" Premiere but I can't find it ANYWHERE! Here is a link to the blog post she did on the outfit complete with pictures of the dress and a vague description: http://www.elleandblair.com/post/out-and-about-disneys-prom-premiere Thanks in advance!
I'm a guy who dresses like he has money when I'm actually poor- What do you think of that? i wear hot topic skinny jeans, vans shoes, nice shirts, and i touch myself up well these days (in the past i was kinda sloppy and careless) Yet-- I'm not your average well-off kid like you might think- I'm poor. My parents are poor, I often eat generic food, I bag all my lunches- rarely ever eat out I don't own a car and I've never owned one- I take public transportation. I don't have my own place and im jobless. But ya know despite this I feel like it's ridiculous of me to wait until I'm out of college to look sharp- I'm a bargain hunter- I hunt for things that look rich and expensive but are cheap (Like at discount clothing stores, thrift stores) I rarely ever go in malls. I'm hoping that one day even if I am successful and have lots of money that I am never so foolish as to flop tons of my hard-earned money on expensive things without putting in the initiative and research to find sales and bargains (Regardless of the state of the economy or my financial situation) Even if I was Joe Rich, I wouldn't find it pointles and morally wrong to reward companies and stores with over-priced items. I'm all for supporting my dollars to good companies that have nice stuff at a fair price. Though the entire reason I care about nice clothes is not about the social stigma attached behind it or anything artificial related. I do it as a form of self-expression, like in an artistic matter- and like all great artists I make sure to spare my paint for only the best paintings Or in other words, spare my money for only clothes I REALLY want.
Does this story get you in the Christmas spirit? Mary hurried out the door cursing the whole time." I hate to shop. I wish Christmas would just get over with. " she mumbled to herself. Mary got into her car, and sped off to the local discount store. When she pulled into the parking lot, she saw that there was not a parking place. " Damn" she yelled. Why can't I just go away for the rest of the Christmas season. She finally spotted a spot to park and hurridly parked her car. She thought to herself that she would just run into this store and buy whatever she finds. She opens the door to the store and smiled seeing that the store was almost empty. She went to the clothes rack and started to browse through the shirts." Maybe mom would like a shirt." she said to herself. She had been standing there for a little while, when she saw a couple coming over to the racks beside her. They seemed to be in a heated disscusion. "Holly. I said that she needs a pair of shoes worse." the man said. The woman looks to be in her mid thirties, her clothes were tattered and her shoes were of two different styles. He was a big man, maybe in his early fourties. He wore clothes just as tattered as his wifes. " No Ted, she needs clothes worse. It is getting cold and she will freeze if she wears that old dress she has now." Holly said. Mary tired not to listen to this couple and concentrated on the task before her. " Honey" Ted said. " I think your right. Let's look for Cassie a new winter dress. " Mary tried to get the imigine of a little girl, wearing a tattered dress and shoes that had holes in them out of her mind. But the thoughts seeped in, and traveled to her heart. Tears came to her eyes. Mary thought to herself how she could help this couple. She knew that a mere handout would probably offend them. She had to find a way to give that couple money. But how? Finally it hit her. She dug into her purse and found two one hundred dollar bills and dropped them on the floor. She continued to look through the clothes, waiting for the perfet time to discover the " lost" money. She couldn't hold out any longer, the couple was going to leave the area they were at. Mary bent down and picked up the money. " Excuse me'" Mary said to the woman. " Did you drop this money? " The woman looked at the money in Mary's hand. " No" she said. " I didn't drop any money." Panic flooded Mary's body. How can she convince this couple that this was indeed their money. " You know, " Mary said. " Sometimes, when you pray for something, God works in mysterious ways to answer them." The woman cocked her head and squinted her eyes. Mary continued quickly. " I know that God wants you to have this money. I think that you should take this money and use it the way God intended." The woman's eyes filled with tears. " I didn't think that my prayer was heard, I thought that God forgotten about us and that this Christmas would be like so many past ones." By this time tears were streaming down both Mary's and the woman's faces. " Take the money, and buy what you need." said Mary. " Merry Christmas and may God Bless you." Mary said. She turned to go down the next asile, leaving the couple there. " Oh honey" Holly said. " We can buy our daughter a new dress, new shoes, and a toy.We even have enough to buy some food." Ted looked at his wife, tears streaming down his face as well. " Yes honey, God answered our prayers. Cassie will have a wonderful Christmas this year. " Holly smiled. " Cassie is going to be so excited, I can't wait to see her eyes light up when Santa FINALLY stops at her house." she said. This time with such joy in her voice. That even the Angels smiled. Where can I find pinstripe dress pants? I really need to find a pair of pinstripe dress pants but I don't wanna pay a lot for them. I went to all the normal discount places: Marshalls, Ross, and TJ Maxx but I had no luck. Does anyone know of another store or a place online where I could find a pair (even a gently used pair) for cheap? Like under $20?
Where can I buy a Betsey Jonson dress that's either knockoff or very discounted? I saw this amazing dress in a Betsey Johnson store, perfect for homecoming but of course I can't afford it. I was wondering if anyone knew a website where I could order one just like it, or find it online somewhere very much discounted. Here is a picture of one of the dressed that caught my eye - http://www.betseyjohnson.com/Evening_Mini_Tea_Party_Dress/pd/c/1101/np/1101/p/5441.html if you know where I can buy it for cheap, or another store that sells dresses that are the same style as this but cheaper, please let me know! Thanks so much in advance for your time and answers! :)
Should I just get the dress or wait? My senior prom is in early to mid-May. At my work there is this really cute dress- looks really good on me, really classy so it's something that I can see myself putting to use in the future, I can get a good discount on it and I can get a little clutch that would match it really well. The thing is that i've got more than two months left to look for a dress and I haven't even been shopping yet. I wouldn't have the time tio go shopping until mid April and I'm just worried that if I get the dress, I might find one that would be better or if i wait then someone else buys it I won't find one as good.
How to look nicer in a dress like this? 16th birthday? Ok I've got this party later. And i kinda have to wear this dress even though i don't really particularly want to. But I've agreed to just wear it for my mums sake. It's white with a few floral black patterns on it. Its really tight at the top and its a bit flary at the bottom. There's a black belt/bow on the waist. Its strapless and looks like this: http://www.debenhams.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/prod_10001_10001_008010213857_-1 With this pattern on it: http://discount-wallcovering.com/images/general%20images/DAJ001.JPG My crush is going to be there and I do wanna look my best. So what do you think I should do with it to make me look abit more older and sexier? Perhaps accessory wise? And make-up and hair-wise? My hair is long and dark brown. I have a slim, sorta petite shape but i'm tall. Apprantely nice eyes& lips... what do you think I should do?
What is your opinion on re-wearing a special occasion dress? I have been going to a lot of weddings lately. I am not Ms. Moneybags, so normally, I go to a discount store and comb through the entire evening wear section until I find something awesome, flattering and affordable. I am going to a wedding next month, and I decided to splurge on a dress. It wasn't a bad price for the dress, but it was an investment for me. In the days before Facebook, I used to have a few dressy dresses that I could choose from when I had to dress up. I feel like now, the pictures of any occasion are plastered all over the internet for the world to see, which is nice, because you can look back on the event. However, it's kind of also hard on the wallet, because it causes me to feel like I need to wear a different dress to everything I'm invited to because I feel strange about showing up to things and having people possibly be thinking "she just wore that dress to so and so's wedding!" Since I paid what is a lot of money for me on this dress and think it's very beautiful, I would like to wear it again sometime in the future. It's kind of annoying and shallow that men can wear the same suit over and over but there's some sort of taboo for women to wear the same dress a few times. I feel like dressing up and going to the event and being happy for the people involved is what matters, but then again, I don't want to be "that girl" and somehow insult people. How do you get around this?
Is David's Bridal getting any better? I got married 3 years ago next month. My dress, jewelry, veil, and BM's dresses came from David's Bridal. The reason we chose them was b/c I didn't feel very comfortable with any of the local wedding dress shops & 2 of my 3 BM's were in college out of state. I thought if we could all place our orders at our own store location it would be easier (and they use a computer to match the dyes now, so there are no dye lots anymore, or so I was told). Anyway, David's Bridal said walk-ins are welcome when I called to make an appointment. It was the first time my mom & I were looking at dresses. We got there & the saleswoman was completely rude to us. She wouldn't let me stay in one dress longer than 5 minutes. She gave me just enough time to do one twirl in front of the mirror and then wanted to rush me into another dress. We ended up leaving without anything, except the measurements she gave me (said I'd be a size 10 in all their dresses). When my dress came in, it was a size 10 and was WAY too big for me! I took it to the store for alterations & they said they needed to grab a smaller size (6). Since there was no time to order a new size, they gave me a sample dress from the sales floor. It had makeup, deodorant and sweat stains all over it. They didn't give me a discount on the dress or the alterations, but did clean it for me (it looked fine). The smallest size they could find was an 8, so it was still too big, even with alterations. I bought a bracelet & earrings for the wedding. The bracelet had rhinestones & faux pearls on it. The pearls fell off during the ceremony (and we weren't even dancing since it was in a baptist church). When I got home from the store with my veil, it was ripped. So I had to drive an hour back to the store & they wouldn't give me a discount for my trouble. A different DB in another state lost one of my BM's dresses & then when they found it, they cut it way too short in the alterations & refused to give her a new dress. Her dress was supposed to be tea-length but ended up being above her knees. A friend of mine ordered her BM's shoes to be dyed a rose-pink color to match their dresses. Three days before the wedding when the shoes came in, they were bright orange. ________________________________ Have you or a friend had a similar incident? Or are they getting better about these things? A friend just asked me where I got my dress & things and I don't want to refer her to a crappy store. Thanks! Yeah... we had bad experience at the one outside Nashville, TN, Glen Bernie, MD, Roanoke, VA, and Charlotte, NC
cheap wedding dress? I was wondering if anyone knew of some online websites that had nice dresses for a very cheap price. Even if they are ebay stores or discount places thats fine...i just want a dress that wasnt made super cheap looking. thanks!:D
What is fair for me and my husband now that I work fulltime? My hubby works 40 hours a week and me I work 40-55 hours a week and I bring home $4,500.00 a month sometimes more sometimes less...but it averages out to around $4,ooo A month. Our rent is $2,000 a month and we have 2 car notes and insurance and of course the utilities and other bills and groceries etc...He told me that i was to pay with my money 100% of the rent and then 1/2 of all the other bills because i make this much money...oh and with my money i have to pay 100% of day care for our son too. My hubby makes $33.00 an hour and works 40 hours a week and some over time time and a half..he makes more than me but since 1000 buck is taken out of his check a month for child support on his 17 yr old daughter he feels i should pay more of the bills. i also have to dress nicely and i am a very consevative and frugal person. he will not even alow me to go get a $15 manicure or even buy a new skirt or blouse on discount..nor a pair of comfy shoes that are on discount! continued.... mind u i said i am a woman that is a sales rep and we must look presentable. he says i should only own 1 air of black pumps and 1 pair of brown ...or even just 1 pair of black shoes to wear. look i make money and i thought that at least he should allow me an allowance of maybe 100 bucks a month to buy say a few items like maybe a pair of shoes or a blouse from time to time. it is embarrassing that i have to wear the same thing over and over again. really embarrassing. i told him maybe if he stopped smoking and stopped buying beer than we could save $ but he said he will not stop and not change his lefestyle for me. i took this job to help with bills but i also want to feel pampered form time to time. seriously honestly i have not had my nails done in 4 yrs! yes 4 yrs! i keep them unpolished and plain jane short because he wont let me get them done.i even buy my make up at target. not at fancy places either. what would u do? am i wrong ?
What do I do about a rude wedding film customer? I have a wedding I shot a few months ago. When capturing, my still camera got bumped, and is staring at a a post. (http://www.codadesign.net/dick click on mistake) Normally the editing would be short and sweet. But now I wasn't even sure how I was going to do it at all. After a few weeks of "OK, I'm gonna do this..." and then promptly getting frustrated when I sat down to edit- I finally decided to do the reception and rehearsal first. It's a real pain, since I shot as if I had a second camera. I started getting nasty emails from the groom, and I tried to explain why it was taking so long, but he started talking about excuses. In one email, mentioned that I didn't like being blamed for something that wasn't my fault, and here was his reply. Subject WTF!?! Yes, seriously. Let me give you a lesson in the world of business, excuses do not make your customer happy, nor do they give your business name ANY credibility. The ONLY reason I brought up the fact that it is nobody's fault but your own is because you have been using this as your excuse as to why the video is not complete. Yes, I did watch the video, and if this "lady in the red dress" did in fact move your camera, there is no way she would have known. You think maybe you put it in the way? Do you think maybe you could have shown up earlier to find a better place to put it? Do you think maybe if this video camera was so important to your production as you make it seem you might have come to check on it? All these are things that a "professional" like yourself should keep into consideration when taking on a job like this. How much extra time you put into this is irrelevant to the cost of the video, so I don't want to hear on what a big favor you are doing us by not charging us any more. .Yeah...you TOLD me you were working on our video, but lets get one thing straight, you have TOLD us that you have been working on this for over three months. Now, let me TELL you something, finish the video and give me the date you will have it done! The only response I expected out of you would have gone something like this: Yes Paul, you are right, I should have showed up earlier to set up the camera better, and maybe checked on it a few times to make sure it was okay. Sorry this has taken so long, but I'll have your video to you ASAP. If you would have said this to me, I would have been happy. The sad thing is, I am not happy. Ignorant responses back to your customer l only discredit your business. The only reason I have gotten involved is because my Mom is upset over the whole process and doesn't know what to do. This is where I come in. I solve problems. I will solve this problem and will be in contact with you. Paul I had made the choice of where to put the camera at the rehearsal. I gave him a discount. He's rude. I don't need this. what do I do? I'm not procrastinating. I'm working on it. It's like being told to make a car without a carburetor. I told them it would take longer. I got there in plenty of time and chose the camera spot the night before. If you see a camera and you BUMP it, don't you think that you should tell someone?

im just so sad or irritable ? i dont know whats wrong with me. im just so sad or im so irritable that my fiance notices. the last 2 days when people i have called havent called me back or wanted to talk to me right away, i have actually cried. like started sobbing as soon as i hung up the phone. i seem to have a knack for calling people at the wrong time, as people always seem to have to call me back. i live in a house with my fiance, our child, his parents and his 90 some year old dementia ridden grandmother. his mother has made it very clear that she doesnt like me and doesnt want her son to marry me, but is going along with it b/c she doesnt want to upset my fiance(he is her favorite son). she loves her other son's wife and makes blatent gestures to show that she likes her and doesnt like me(she is SO PROUD that fsil is having a boy, whereas when i was going to have my son she could have cared less;she has gone out and immediately bought her mimi maternity clothes and she doesnt even really need maternity clothes, at least not as many as fmil is buying her-she didnt buy me ANY maternity clothes unless she could get them at a super low discount and even then it was like one or two shirts and i had to buy the rest myself). she refuses to even discuss our wedding even though it is only nine and a half weeks away at this point. she wont help us with anything for the wedding(i had to have my fiance take me to find a bra for my dress and to take my dress to the tailors to have it altered for my upcoming bridal photos;she also expects me to sit in my wedding dress on an absolutely filthy back seat(fgmil is fecal and urine incontinent and has had more than a few accidents in the back seat, along with crumbs, dog hair, etc. and she also refuses to get my dress cleaned after making me sit in my wedding dress on this seat). for fsil's bridal portraits she rented a car and it was a fun time for all(i didnt go as i was working). she has made the planning for this wedding positively MISERABLE!!! i almost dont even want to get married anymore as all i see for the rest of my life is having to live with her and deal with her shit(the only reason i do want to get married is b/c i love my fiance). my parents and sisters are no longer a part of my life(their choice). my mother is an undiagnosed borderline personality and my father and sister go along with whatever she says to keep the peace. my father sent me an email about a year ago basically blaming me for the problems in his and my mothers marriage and telling me never to contact him or my sisters again(the email was copied to my mother). my mother over the years has spread several outright lies about me, up to and including saying that i and my fiance were responsible for our first childs death(even after the autopsy report was issued and listed SIDS as the cause and we knew that it wasnt the case even though we of course blamed ourselves). she also said that every child we would ever have would die, that my fiance killed our first child and that he was coming after me next, that i was a drug addict and a prostitute to support my habit(which is so UNTRUE it is ridiculous), etc. what little family i have outside of them kind of goes back and forth it seems w/ wanting to talk to me. both of my g'parents are gone(whom i was really close to on both sides) along w/ my g'g'mother. there is almost no one coming to our wedding. most of my fiance's family isnt coming for various reasons, mostly due to the economy(or at least thats what they say; i think they know that fmil doesnt like me and they just dont want to be seen supporting something she doesnt as she is perceived as the sub matriarch of the family), and my family is for the most part just not coming for almost any reason-distance, recently made vacation plans(even though they have known the wedding date for almost a year). then today i found out one of my bm's just got engaged. dont get me wrong here- i am really genuinely happy for her. im just kind of mad & jealous as her & new fiance have tons of family around them who are ELATED that they are finally getting married. they got engaged this week & are having an engagement party this weekend. we never had an engagement anything other than my ring, & my fiance asked me on valentines day when i was pregnant w/ our son-not really the height of romance, & when we told his parents, they didnt care & were not the least bit excited. they were just kind of like "oh.pass the potatoes." i dont know whats wrong or how to fix it.
Is this a good Idea! Would you be interested...? I am going to prom this year, and I am promoting a website, www.promgowndirect.com, they gave me a personal coupon code that i can use to promote their website, I get 10.00 bucks evertime someone uses my code, so far I got 140.00 bucks. The dress I want is a Jovani for 500.00 so I am going to use the 100.00 coupon code, the 140 bucks I got from promoting the site, I will end up paying only 260.00 for the dress I want, hopefully I will get more sales by prom and maybe I can get my dress free...COOL. but if you want the same deal contact them, I will get 2.00 for each reps sale so we can all benefit from this. if your intrested let me know, I can hook you up...think about it if you have friends, post blogs and stuff, you can get your dress for a huge discount or you can even get it free.... let me know if this sounds good to you.
Average price for a bridesmaid dress? My friend is getting married this fall, and she has asked me to be a bridesmaid. As I've only ever been invited to one wedding and never apart of any, I wasn't aware that I'd be paying for my own dress (as my best friend was in her cousin's wedding last fall and her cousin paid for all the dresses). I work p/t minimum wage, and am going back to school, with over 10K going on my credit card. I literally cannot put anything on my card. The place she wants to get our dresses from, I looked online and the cheapest dress is $200! Is this normal? I've already told her I can barely afford food, let alone a dress, and she told me we'll gets discounts as she bought her dress there. I just wonder how much of a discount this will be. I really want to be apart of her wedding, but right now, I don't even have $200 in my bank account. Any advice?
Are there any coupon codes for promgirl? hey i'm thinking about ordering a dress from promgirl the website.. and i know there is a box for codes like to get discounts whenever you go to the checkout.. is there any codes that somebody could give me to get money off, free shipping or something! or even if there is a very good site that has one :) thanks so much !
I need help??? This is the bridesmaid dress that I like the best: http://www.davidsbridal.com/bridesmaids_bycolor_detail.jsp?stid=2650&sid=10019&cfid=1 However, I have three bridesmaids and two of my three bridesmaids are polar opposites. My sister is somewhat of a snob, and she refuses to shop online or a buy a dress anywhere but in a store. On the other hand, my best friend is in somewhat of a financial bind and doesn't have much money. I'd like to find her a suitable dress online or used or discount. However my sister wouldn't have anything to do with it. Its causing a big fuss, and I don't have the money to pay for her dress myself (it's only 130, as you can see) but I know that the other two will get mad if I pay for it or if they even suspect it. Its driving me crazy. I would get different dresses but its a formal wedding and my family wouldnt hear of different bridesmaid dresses. Is there any way I can find an apple red dress at a store for cheap? Know of any stores??? Thanks so much.
Major Wedding Dress Dilemma...? So i bought my wedding dress from Berketex a few months ago. The lady told me that day was the final day of a 20% discount offer. so i tried on loads of dresses, none of which were right...however when i tried the final one on i got a massive reaction from my friends. I liked the dress but i asked the lady if i can think about it for a couple of days but she said if i like the dress i should just get it as the discount wont be on offfer in a couple of day...so i put a deposit down. Since then i have constantly had a niggle, I dont feel like i have bought the right dress. I tried it on a month ago with veils and felt even worse about it but i didnt say anything cz everyone else around me loved it. I dont know what to do. i dont want to lose my deposit and i am hoping they can do a straight exchange if they find me a dress i love. The shop isnt open today hence why i'm asking for you guys' opinions. What do you think my options are? good one vegas jimmy...cant you read?!?!?!?!
I want this really hot dress for dance but its totally out of budget? Alternatives? A saw this little purple dress at a shop and it is totally opposite to my image of simple and innocent teen, I want to look hot and kinda fashionable and this dress is perfect but I dont have enough money to buy. I told this to my friend and she advised me to get some cloth piece (cotton, linen) and ask a tailor to make one like that... but risky, in case he spoils it. And other option was to lend a similar one from some friend but you know other girls will find it out Tried EBay and Forever Nothing similar even at discounted rates Any ideas? The guy I am going with is very particular about brands and this is like 12 times my budget!!! He will be wearing a very very very expensive DJ :( * ask any of my friend to give me for a day.
what do you think about what I have so far in my novel? Chapter One: Something I do with my friends, Tess and Jessica, after school every Friday is go to the mall and hit up all the shops. After the tenth Friday, we became regulars and everyone basically knows us and our names. It’s like we run the place. No—it’s not because my Daddy owns Lombardi Mall. That’s not it at all. The workers there don’t need to know I’m Murphy Lombardi, daughter of Richard Lombardi, owner of Lombardi Mall. In fact, if I used that as some sort of way to get a discount from one of the stores, the employee that gave me the discount and I would both get in trouble if he were ever to find out. It was one of his “Top Rules”. Not that it really mattered, though, because I was my Daddy’s only daughter and his Number One Girl. If I asked for money, of course I would get it because he’d never deny me of it. I’d use my sweetest smile or sweetest frown and widened my sapphire eyes for a cute, puppy look that worked so well. It had that effect on almost everyone I gave that expression to. I’m not even lying. It’s how I get my way. I know what you’re probably thinking, Oh, she’s such a snobby girl. Well, yes, if you use rich and popular as you definition of snobby then I would be, but it doesn’t mean I’m an evil person. I’m just a girl with high standards from a wealthy family who gets what she wants. I don’t see anything wrong with that. I’m just happy and I won’t try to drag down my great reputation down by socializing with the people that are lower than me. That’s why I hang-out with the other rich, popular people. Take for instance, Tess and Jessica. They are my best friends. Tess’s parents run The Mauve Spot which is like the best restaurant in town. Everyone goes there; it’s always packed. Jessica’s mom is an attorney who makes nearly a quarter million a year. She even has a commercial on the local channels. I would say that they are worthy to be let into my group. Also, they have a super-awesome sense of fashion. From Marc Jacobs to Gucci to Prada to Ralph Lauren to Calvin Klein—we own it all and everything in between and outside those lines. We parked as close to the entrance as we could because it would’ve hurt to walk all that way in these heels. Of course Tess suggested it. She is like… the smart one in our group. You could tell because she wears glasses. I told her she should get contact lenses, but apparently her eyes aren’t ready for them. Whatever. “So… Where should we stop by first?” I asked as Jessica parked her Volvo in the spot. “I think Teresa Rossi. Definitely Teresa Rossi,” suggested Tess who was seated behind me in the backseat. This surprised me. Since when did we shop there? “Since when do we shop there?” I turned my neck so fast to look at her, I thought it would break. I could see her roll her eyes even under those glasses. She swept a lock of her auburn hair behind her ear. “Well… It’s Spring and I want to get some dresses there because they’re cute!” “Poor people shop there…” I murmured. I didn’t want to sound rude, but it was true! The highest priced item there was a one hundred and twenty dollar dress, and it wasn’t even a “good” one. “Good” meaning from the top fashion designers! I refuse to buy something without getting the best! Why settle for less than the best? “Pfft. Wow, Murphy…” I heard Jessica scoff. She always did that to me. It always makes me mad. “Wow what?” “I don’t think it matters who shops there... I think it matters what’s there.” “And it’s poor people clothes there!” She scoffed again. It was really irritating me! What did I say that was so bad? “Whatever. Let’s go, anyway. I hear the dresses around Spring time are actually cute. Maybe we should check it out. I saw Joan Andrews wearing one of them and she looked adorable.” Tess looked at me like she was disappointed. How lame. I love Tess, but she cannot pull off my look. “Oh. Alright, but we stop by Bloomingdale’s first.” They both nodded in agreement and we got out of the car. Whatdaya think about it? I'm not writing it to be original or get published... I'm doing it for fun and am writing a novel that I would enjoy reading and writing. I'm 12... 13 in two days and I want to finish when I'm 14. lol....... you don't know what the subject is... beginning. and maybe it's boring to you because it's girly stuff. lol. :D. but i wasnt asking for a critique of the storyline.... just for the writing. yeah. i hate Murphy and Jessica, but I love Tess and Jonah (who will appear soon...) Jonah is her love interest... just ask if you want a description of him because if you don't... then I won't. :P wow. matthew, that was kinda rude. geez. well, i'm just gonna go with the thing that annoys everyone... you're just jealous. XD nah. i'm just joking... but i hate how the plot is judged even though i'm only a little into it... I mean, come on... Seriously. You don't even know it yet. Immaturity, huh? I think I smell some immaturity in your judgements. Wow. Assume what you like, but you can't simply judge my character for what I have written here. What I gather, Matthew H, is that you are incapable of giving advice in a respectful matter. How rude. Saying it's "boring" and "poor" among other things. Yes; you are stating your opinion, but do you really have to be an ass? Seriously.

What's the "real deal" with Trunk Shows? I was looking through a website that had several different designers, and a variety of dresses from each designer. Looking through the dresses, I found several that I liked from one designer, and found out there will be a trunk show going on later this week at the store nearest to my hometown (about 45 minutes away). Now, before I head down there, I would like to know exactly what are the advantages (if any) to attending a trunk show. Do you get any special discounts? When is the best time to go, the first day, or the last? Do the stores then discount the "old"/used dresses to make room for the new ones? Would I be able to try on the dresses shown? Is there anything else to the trunk shows? Should I even go? I know it's a lot of questions, but they are all related. Hope you can help. I'll appreciate any info you can give me on Trunk Shows. Thanks in advance!!!!
I look younger than I am? You think it sounds like a good thing that I look younger and I know a lot of people want to look younger, but i'm 16 years old and I look 11. I want to look my age, but it doesn't help either that i'm Asian. skinny with chubby cheeks and i'm only 5 feet tall. Even if I try and dress my age, people still mistake me for a middle schooler. Every time I go out to eat with my family, I hate when the people working there ask "How old is she" my family lies and then I always get the kids discount (ages 6-12) when we pay, which is kind of a good thing, but it's so embarrassing! I know everyone will say "you'll appreciate it when you're older" or "when your older you'll wish that you looked younger" but I just can't get over it. Is there a way to cope with this and people mistaking me for a preteen? I'm turning 17 and i'm going to start looking for jobs and applying for colleges, but I'm not sure if looking so young will help me, no one will take me seriously even if I dress professionally.
i was "caught" shoplifting at sears a month ago? about $ 80 worth of stuff..but here the thing that throws me off...in the paper that the lawyer was holding i had read that supposedly one of the workers saw me grad items and putting them in my bag. when that was the biggest lie in my opinion because i had concealed the items inside the dressing room. either they lied about the report saying that they saw me take the items..or they must have cameras inside the dressing rooms..either way i feel like having cameras shouldnt be allowed inside dressing rooms..even though its for prevention of theft. i say that they lied tho because i was one of those almost close to being pro at what i did..not no more though OBVIOUSLY because i finally got caught. but then i get led to my next question..i had went with another girl that lives in indiana and came to visit my mom. she didnt seem as if she liked me but like a dumb *** i told her we were going to the mall because i wanted to 5 finger discount some bras and clothes..my other theory is that while at the stole she might have placed something in her bag and took it out n the dressing room that was so that the workers could think that we were both shoplifting..we look alike from physical appearance in a way and she could have taken advantage of that to get me caught. im glad i finally got caught though after 14 years of doing it..im 18 out of high school and i know i was a little way too old to be doing immature things like that. for feature advice..if you shoplift and you are reading this PLEASE STOP NOW! you will eventually get caught especially at sears..where they can lie about your report -_- #the criminal is always wrong and the witness may take advantage of their power in hands i will no longer shop lift after this...even though i was addicted to it and even though my mom coudlnt afford to buy me those things..still stealing is bad..but from past experience..my dad is a drug addict and even tho hes been in rehab hundreds of times..he never changes because of it..its up to ones self motivation in order to stop their addiction.i now have 6 months probation 48 hrs of community service and i ask myself if its worth it? its really not..im going to have to pay $700 for trying to steal $80 a pain in the butt..but after this is all over with im going to collage and hopefully get paid high than some stuff loss prevention worker ;) i never stepped foot at sears till that day..sears clothes never really appealed to me but like i said i been stealing since i was like 4 and i had the thrill to be taking something that my mom couldn't afford. not every one thinks the same so don't judge..i have beliefs too. some beliefs can be right some arent. i dont blame my mother for not having enough money to buy me things all the time...i blame myself for having to want to take things on my own hands the way i did. plus.. im those that are better off learn through self experience..i walked into the court by myself..i walk out by myself. bretton jones..no one cares how much you get paid or what ever..i just wanted a straight forward question not some little opinion.i have rights too just because im a convict doesnt me i get to let sears walk all over me with me shoplifting..if they lied to the law..what gives them more right to lie to the law than i do..if they lied that they seen me take something.i may be a criminal..but i still have my rights.
Are name brands and labels on clothes overrated to you? As I've grown from a teen up into my early/mid 20s......to me name brands are overrated...do you agree??? I consider myself well dressed and stylish.....but....when I analyze some of the the clothes in big name mall department stores.....then I check out some of the stuff in discount stores or even Wal-Mart...I see alot of the same stuff...that really nobody could tell the difference about where you got it from. I could get an entire wardrobe from Wal-Mart and arrange it to look more stylish, professional and look like a million bucks....I can walk into a grown and sexy 21 and Up club lookin pretty nice in discount store/wal mart gear....and i can look like i spent more money than some guy who spent more than my entire fit on one oversized wrinkled "coogi" shirt and he comes out lookin like a bum......do you agree.?? Do you care about name brands??? Outside of sneakers....I dont care about name brand and I think you can pull off discount and wal-mart clothes.
Where can I find used or new Betsey Johnson dresses at discount? Please help!? I have checked ebay and craigslist. Ahhhh!! Help please! I have some dresses that I am sort of specifically looking for, but any site that has Betsey Johnson would be awesome!! Thanks so much! Here are some specifics: http://concreteloop.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/03/rmamarock.jpg http://cgi.ebay.com/Betsey-Johnson-Evening-Mini-Tea-Party-Dress-Sz-4-Purple_W0QQitemZ290343410981QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUS_CSA_WC_Dresses?hash=item4399d0dd25&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14 http://www.asos.com/Betsey-Johnson/Betsey-Johnson-Strapless-Net-Prom-Dress/Prod/pgeproduct.aspx?iid=582453&cid=4456&sh=0&pge=0&pgesize=20&sort=-1&clr=Pink ^^^^^^ Thats the main one I want. I live in the USA, so no UK sites please:) thanks so much!!
Has anyone had their dress custom made outside of the USA? How was the final product? With dress prices going up and up, I'm finding it impossible to even consider looking at retail bride stores for my dress. My mother is an alteration's manager at a David's Bridal, and even with her 25% discount they're too expensive for the quality of fabric. My mother would make my dress if she had time. She does fashion design, but her wrists hurt her from all the years she's spent slaving over other bridal gowns and I don't want to make it worse. We also really find the designs available for the price range we have atrocious. We love simple & elegant. I'm the kind of girl who wants a dress in a very simple style: http://www.jimhjelmvisions.com/jim_br/display_dress.php?imageno=8661&multimatch=x But I can't afford the name behind the design. I'm not even looking for expensive lace, just a nice cut that doesn't looked like a cupcake. Have any of you outsourced your design to a company in China or India? Did you like what you got? Was the price good? Services? Any bad experiences? We wanted this dress for awhile because it was only $300. (My mom asked me to try it on for fun, because I admired the English lace.) But David's Bridal stopped carrying it last season. Some shops may have a dress in my size left, but it'll be hard to find in my area. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v492/sayasan/100_0342.jpg Ignore the shoes and the veil... They were not going to be part of the package. The point is I want something simple that reflects my tastes without forking over more than $500... Lilpen - I'm guessing you haven't gotten your dress yet, but do you know anyone who has? How did you find that site? I'm trying to find someone who has the dress already in their hands that can give me information. (Not that your info doesn't help, I'm looking at it now...)
good companies to work for? i am working in retail, and i intend to stay in retail for possibly a few more years, however, i'm having a difficult time at my job. on one hand, i work at a certain off-beat, yet popular retail store in a mall that has a GREAT eployee discount, an awsome dress code (i can basically look however i want) and carries great merch. Also plays great music some of the time. But on the other hand, i cant stand the store manager aho is constantly struggling with me on when to schedule me. Frankly, I feel like just doesnt like me at all, and thus i dont really feel respected. Im not completely comfortable there yet as far as all my duties go. My elployers also, never seem to be happy with anything. i understand where they are coming from but i would like to be congradulated on little things if i do something well. And i feel like i should feel good because i offer some of the best customer service there is! But i always feel bad, or like i didnt do well enough. I know that no matter where i work, i'm not going to be frolicing through daisies with puppies all day long. i understand what work is and that you get tired, and complained to, and maybee even fought with. im just wan to ask all the retailers (associates not managers) out there, what a good company to work for is. i do have tattoos and often color my hair weird colors but im willing to make sacrifices for an employer who will respect me, or pay me enough. if you can please tell me where you work, or a company that you know of that fits the discription and possibly how much your paid hourly, but if you dont want to give that info, its okay. i'm just curious as to what else is out there.
Am I wrong to be offended at my supervisor? I have been working at a discount clothing store for a bit over a month. Today, the floor supervisor came up to me and said that I need to wear make-up because I work at the register. According to her, the fact that I do not wear make-up makes me "unprofessional". I happen to disagree. I do not ever wear make-up (except for lip gloss/ lip stick once in a great while) for several reasons: I do not own any (so it would be a financial burden, since the company isn't going to pay for it), it is REALLY evil on my skin (makes me break out and gives me a ton of zits),I do not like the idea of wearing a "mask", especially since I am pretty enough without it, and also that it takes longer to put on than I have time in the morning (I am not going to get up an hour earlier just to paint my face :/). I told her the first two reasons and she just said "oh". Am I wrong to be offended at her asking me to wear something that is not even in the dress code and really has nothing to do with how professional I look? How should I discuss this with her the next time I see her? She is not actually the head manager, just a shift supervisor, (there are 3, then the assistant store manager, then the store manager), and has no real power to keep or fire me. I think I am a bit upset because I know it must be either because she thinks all women should wear make-up to work and/or because of the fact that, I often hear her speak poorly (basically gossiping) of other associates (but not to the particular associate), someone else told her they think I should wear make-up. I try to give people the benefit of the doubt, but there seems to be a pattern. The makeup is not a requirement in the dress code. I am not asking about that (just to be clear). The corporate dress code does not require employees to wear (or not wear) make-up.
bebe employee dress code? i was just wondering whenever i shop at bebe the employees are wearing bebe clothing is that part of the dress code? do they have to wear bebe merchandise? cause i mean even with a 40% discount its still pretty expensive stuff seems like they spend their whole paycheck on what to wear the next two days just really curious thinking of applying
Why do I always feel like the most dressed-up person on the bus? Since I live on the poor side of town, this is somewhat understandable I suppose.. but, with that being said- even I manage to find 'nice' clothes on a very tight budget. I shop almost exclusively at discount clothing stores, so even though I might look richer then what I really am- truth is I just know how to hunt for good deals and hardly ever buy overpriced stuff. Then again, It is true that I don't always dress up- today I wore an oversized old plain green teee with shorts that the black is a little faded... but hey, its the weekend. I save the good clothes for going back and forth to college- when im lounging around in a book store or cafe on a weekend- i wear my old cruddy clothes. btw, when I say tight budget I'm not exagerating although I do put a higher priority to clothes and looking good then say, putting good food in my mouth. I often get by with just eating generic cheap stuff in almost everything I consume. I rarely treat myself out to eat.
What do you think of this bridesmaids dress and where can I find it? The colours for my wedding are soft pink and green like http://www.richeflowers.com/images/tulip%20bridal%20bouquet.jpg or http://www.flowers.org.uk/images/flowers/ranunculus_big.jpg even a little paler than those. If my wedding had a theme I suppose it would be garden party, it would be held outside in a garden in summer (hopefully warm summer night). I had originally chosen another dress for my maids, but I think this one is quite elegant even though the colours are stronger than I had wanted. This is the dress http://www.sherrihill.com/dresses/Sherri_Hill_s02071.htm and the one on the right http://www.sherrihill.com/dresses/Sherri_hill_6.htm do you think they will they look ok even though they are bright? Also do you know where I might be able to buy them at a discount? I live in australia so it would have to be off a website (there are no stockists here) I can only find them for $560 which is too much. I have looked on ebay and they are not there so please don't suggest it.
Any good ideas of what i can do for my sweet 16 in nyc? i want to take maybe 4 or 5 of my friends in a limo to nyc but i dont know what to do there. i looked at the plays and even the discounted tickets were a lot of money and the seats wouldnt be too great anyway. i dont want to go to like the wax museum or anything that i could do any day. i also wanted to wear a dress and if we went ice skating or something at chelsea piers it would be too fancy. i dont want to just go to a boring fancy restaurant but i also dont want to look too over dressed and i want to do something awesome. my birthdays in january so it will also be cold. i was thinking maybe dinner and then walking time square but thats kind of boring. is going on the top of the empire state building fun? idk, anyone have any good ideas? thannks
Anyone else have a bad experience with Davids Bridal? I've been married almost 2 years. I just answered a question in this section, then I started thinking back to my wedding/engagement days... I was in college while I was engaged, so I went home to TN to get my dress. Then my parents moved to Baltimore, so my dress was sent there. I ended up doing most of my business with the one near my college in VA. In 4 months, they: -Ordered my dress 2 sizes too big. To "make up for it", they took one right off the rack with stains all over it. Didn't even offer a discount. But said I didn't have time to order a new one, so they cleaned it "the best they could". -Sold me a ripped veil & then accused me of ripping it when I drove an hour to exchange it. -My jewelry (from there) broke as soon as I got out of the door. They didn't have more in stock, so they glued the "pearls" back on. Then it fell apart at my wedding. -Lost a bridesmaids' dress -Gave me a "555-" phone number when I asked for the number to another location -They were hemming one bridesmaid's dress (NC) and cut it about a foot too short. Wouldn't give her a new one. Anyone else have a bad experience with them or anyone else? Oh, don't even get me started on the alteration prices-- $125 to bring the hem up one inch. I just went to Rack Room and got shoes with higher heels! lol Platinum bride 2 be: You sound like such a snob. There is no reason someone should have to pay tens of thousands of dollars for a wedding. It is one day. Something always goes wrong. And I'd rather spend that money on other things (like a honeymoon, car, house, etc.). I don't know what your annual income is, but $500 is a lot of money to most people. If someone spends that much money on a dress, they should get quality. And no, it's not a "generic" store. It's a chain. Who cares what brand it is? No one but you... No one walked up to me and asked what brand mine was, but my husband has a picture of me on his desk at work & people compliment it all the time.
My mom is making me wear a prom dress that I don't like...? Okay, so me and my mom were shopping in a discount store about a year ago and she found a normal long purple dress for only 15 dollars. She bought it "just for fun". Well now she is making me wear it to prom this year. I personally think I look horrible in the dress. The color is just not me, and my boobs aren't big enough to hold it up either, so it looks really sloppy. I told my mom politely that I didn't like it, but she is making me wear it anyway. I think I should get to decide since I am 16 and it's myyy prom. She said that she didn't want to buy me another dress either, and I even said that i would buy it myself, but she keeps saying no. I don't understand. I think I've tried everything... I need help. Thanks.
Can I turn in a fake therapy dog/service dog? I know someone who had a family doctor sign for her to get her dog certified as a service dog so she can have the pooch in the building were she owns her apartment. She has all the paper and know pretty much everything to say so people think that that she really is a service dog... If you talk to her she will offer to help you get a "service dog card" and she even prints them out for a small fee (she offered to help get me one for my dog). I feel bad for wanting to do this because the owner is a friend but it is not far to people and businesses that she is lying to so she can take her little dog every where and trying to help others do the same. She even gets a discount for the dog on flights and gets to have her on her lap not under the chair like other dogs. Any thing you think can think of she has the dog with her and gives people hell if they question the little dog in a dress with a stroller being a Service Dog. I have google some things but cant find where I could report her. Is there a way? I do not hate her & I know her very well, she is not sick. She owns two homes so if she doesnt have to move & her building has changed the rules to no animals over 12lbs. I dont like & I have have told her that I think it is wrong for her to lie and force her dog on people & to sell (profit only to her) the fake cards to people to fool restaurants. She has the real card because she had her doctor friend sign a paper saying she needs a therapy dog & she tells people she has seizures. Her dog is not trained and does act up around kids. I leave my dogs at home when I go out to eat or anything else for them and other people, why cant she do the same. She is married. She calls the dog her favorite of her kids.
Jobs For 16 Year Olds? I really like dressing up but since I don't have any reason to do it now or later in life often, I would like to get a job when I turn 16 that you have to dress up for. The only restraunt around me that you wear a tie at are this chophouse and Olive Garden. My friend's brothers worked at the chophouse but have been there about a year and a half and still washing dishes and the closest Olive Garden is too far. I've thought of JC Penny because then I could wear a suit to work each day and probably get discounts off other dress clothes from there but I don't know if they hire 16 year olds. I don't know if Olive Garden would either. And the Verizon store I'm most likely to go to. They wear suits there everyday and I've seen young guys working there. I am really interested in phones and at 13, I've talked to guys at the stores that I've known more than. One of the guys was very interesting to talk to and I used to go there eveyr week and we would talk about new phones and he told me that when I turned 16, I could apply there and would have a good chance of getting a job. But besides any restraunts, what places can you guys think of that I could work at wear everyday you wear a shirt and tie or even better, shirt tie and vest (like ath the chophouse nearby) or tux or something.
wedding. I have no idea how much to budget? Im starting to plan my wedding but Ive got no idea how much of my budget i should allocate to certain things. How much should I expect to pay for a basic wedding cake, nothing fancy. how much should I expect to pay for a photographer? again, nothing fancy, just a basic package. what on earth are wedding favours for? do i really need them? other than bouquets (one for me, one bridesmaid and one flower girl) and buttonhole for each guest, what other flowers do i need? Most venues ive looked at provide table flowers and if they dont I think i'd put something else in the centre of the table, (candles feather or something) is there anything Ive missed?I dont want any unexpected surprises... venue invites/table plan/name cards dresses/hair/makeup/shoes rings (I've seen one I love for £200) cars (I can arrange this for free through work) sit down meal/champagne for toast/wine for dinner buffet at evening (he can arrange this through work, very discounted) DJ (my dad) entertainer (magicial - best man) photographer registrar/legal fees honeymoon (hoping to get an all inclusive deal for £500-600each) cake groom/bestman suits Ive only got about £6-7k, I know its a very small budget so any suggestions to reduce costs would be great.
My (Ex)Girlfriend Situation? Yesterday while we were in my car my girlfriend started talking about she worries that we're not close anymore. We started talking about this and that and it ended with me telling her the sad truth: I have no lust for her. We've done things and had sex once last week, but I've just discovered that I'm not attracted to her at all. She doesn't put any effort into her appearance, doesn't shave "you know where" and I just let her here it. I really care about this girl and didn't wannt to hurt her feelings, but that was the truth and it needed to be said. She's said before that when I joked about letting myself go and letting my hair grow out how unattractive it is for a guy to not care about what other people think of him, yet she also believes that I should be attracted to her no matter how much she lets herself go, yet she doesn't even try. When I dress to the nines, she doesn't wear makeup, when I buy her a pandora bracelet, she buys me an athletic shirt for $8 (with 20% employee discount of course). Basically this relationship is over, but we haven't said it yet. She basically left saying "I can't believe your saying this, I need to think about it for a while.." I think I kinda blindsided her... oh well I'm sorry for that... What do you think of the situation?
Advice on wedding venue. Found another one and now confused :s How do we choose? Original venue we liked was http://www.staugustines.uk.com/Home.php as it has a chapel so we could have a civil ceremony, wedding breakfast, chapel blessing and evening reception. The prices on the website civil wedding, wedding breakfast, drinks package, evening buffet and dining room charge. For 60 guests, saturday price is £6207 •Friday wedding – a discount of at least 16% •Sunday wedding – a discount of at least 20% •Monday to Thursday weddings – a discount of at least 33% Now i was searching some more and found this venue http://www.salmestonegrange.co.uk/index.htm and now i am really confused. I just priced everything up for a thursday wedding a friday wedding and a saturday wedding and got : Thursday: £4769 Friday: £5269 Saturday: £5894 And these all include exclusive venue hire, chapel marriage (rather than civil ceremony and blessing as the original venue), reception drinks for 60 guests, canapes, 3 course wedding breakfast for 60 guests, corkage for 12 bottles of wine with the meal and evening buffet for 80 guests. We were looking at a budget of £5000 excluding wedding dress but we do have £7000 saved. I think I prefer this one because of a chapel marriage rather than civil ceremony, and we both want to get married in a church. Help?? Which should we choose?? and the second one has accomodation on site - maybe good for getting ready into wedding dress etc
Rough draft for beginning of my novel. Help? Advice? Opinions? I’d use my sweetest smile and widened my sapphire eyes for a cute, puppy look that worked so well. It had that effect on almost everyone I gave that expression to. I’m not even lying. It’s how I get my way. I know what you’re probably thinking, Oh, she’s such a snobby girl. Well, yes, if you use rich and popular as you definition of snobby then I would be, but it doesn’t mean I’m a mean person. I’m just a girl with high standards from a wealthy family who gets what she wants. I don’t see anything wrong with that. I’m just happy and I won’t try to drag my great reputation down by socializing with the people that are lower than me. That’s why I hang-out with the other rich, popular people. Take for instance, Tess and Jessica. They are my best friends. Tess’s parents run The Mauve Spot which is like the best restaurant in town. Everyone go there; it’s always packed. We parked as close to the entrance as we could because it would’ve hurt to walk all that way. Of course Tess suggested it. She is like… the smart one in our group. You could tell because she wears glasses… I told her she should get contact lenses, but apparently her eyes aren’t ready for them. Whatever. “So… Where should we stop by first??” I asked as Jessica parked her Volvo in the spot. “I think Teresa Rossi. Definitely Teresa Rossi,” suggested Tess. This surprised me. Since when did we shop there?? “Since when did we shop there??” I could see her roll her eyes even under those glasses. She swept a lock of her auburn hair behind her ear. “Well… It’s Spring and I want to get some dresses there because they’re cute!” “Poor people shop there…” I murmured. I didn’t want to sound rude, but it was true! The highest priced item there was a one hundred and twenty dollar dress, and it wasn’t a “good” one. “Good” meaning from the top fashion designers! I refuse to buy something without getting the best! Why settle for less than the best?? “Pfft. Wow, Murphy…” I heard Jessica scoffed. She always did that to me. It always made me mad. “Wow what?” “I don’t think it matters who shops there... I think it matters what’s there.” “And it’s poor people clothes there!” She scoffed again. It was really irritating me! What did I say that was so bad? “Whatever. Let’s go, anyway. I heard the dresses around Springtime were actually cute. I'm not writing something to be original or published. I'm writing something that I think I could write and I would actually like to read it myself. I'm hoping to finish writing a novel by the time I'm 14. I'm 12 now... ALMOST 13.
Dress pinker than expected, so need input on flower color? Alrighty, so I ordered my dress from one of those discount chinese places. I got pics of the dress today, and I love it, but the color of the flowers on it are pinker than expected, which is totally fine, but now, I think I'm going to have to pick different flowers or get different colors to match it a little better. So any help would be great. The ones I picked were an orange lily, white carnation, and a cream colored rose. But w/ the pink of the dress, I think either the white carnation or cream rose should be changed to maybe a more pink color, but I'm having a hard time picturing it. Here is a link to the pink on the dress http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v37/Shollia/bottomdressside.jpg Any input would be fantastic. Opinions on what color, or maybe even different type of flower, whatever. I really like the idea of the pink tipped roses. I'll have to see if they can get them. I also really like the idea of just adding ribbon or jewels..... I haven't recieved my dress yet (hopefully soon though)... once I do, I'll be able to see in person how it looks and if I should change anything. Thanks so much everyone for the input!
